বাঙালি কোনোদিন যুদ্ধ করেছে? তাও বাঙালি নারী? বাংলা ও বাঙালির ইতিহাস খুঁজে তেমন গল্প আমরা পাইনা। কিন্তু সত্যি কি বাঙালির বীরত্বের ইতিহাস নেই? নাকি সেই ইতিহাস আমাদের পড়ানো হয়না? আমরা ঝাঁসির রানী লক্ষ্মী বাঈয়ের কথা ইতিহাসে পড়ি কিন্তু আকবরের সমকালীন ভূরিশ্রেষ্ঠ রাজ্যের সম্রাজ্ঞী ভবশঙ্করীর গল্প জানি না। যিনি রায়বাঘিনী নামে পরিচিত। কথায় কথায় রায়বাঘিনী ননদিনী শব্দটা পরিচিত হলেও, রায়বাঘিনীর না-শোনা গল্প রইল আজকের পর্বে।
