In today's video, you will have the chance to improve your Instrument Scan, learn more about QDR and QDM, understand the Quadrants and Holding Patterns.

We are going to depart from LIME out of Runway 28, we will fly the Missed Approach procedure of the ILS Z 28 until ODAMO point where we will join the holding pattern at 4000 feet

I will stop the simulator in order to explain to you what is going on, one of the most important points that I make during the video is that if you need to perform a big turn of 100 degrees or more, for example, you should stay focused initially on your Primary Flight Display and make sure that the Aircraft is in trim.

This is so because when you start a turn the aerodynamics of your Aircraft change thus you need to pitch up and add thrust.

So, get your aircraft in trim first and then check your heading.

If you want to know in which quadrant you are from the selected VOR you need to look at your QDR.

If you are flying inbound a waypoint make sure you keep on the scan the DME distance as well.
