I did an Amazon Japan haul recently and found some really interesting air dry clays! If there are Japanese speakers here then please feel free to add more details about the products in the comments if you're familiar with them. I've reviewed many types of clays before and Japanese brands always came on top (eg    • The BEST and WORST Air-Dry Clays!!! T...  ). So even though these clays were a bit cheaper and don't look aimed at professionals, it was interesting trying to compare them with better known types like paper or plaster based clays.

JELLY CLAY

- Fairly hard texture in the packaging
- Reacts with skin temp and becomes much softer and lighter
- Reminiscent of food based doughs like tapioca or mochi
- Sticks well but not easy to sculpt details

RICE CLAY

- Texture is a combination of cold porcelain and plasticine
- Easy to texture but difficult to stick pieces to each other
- Dries dense and heavy with a white residue on the surface

NERIKESHI CLAY

- Kit for making your own putty erasers
- Slightly hit and miss but not bad for a budget product
- Finished soft erasers do work
- Dries very quickly though
