Living in Germany! CBYX Vocational Program 2022-2023

Hi! I'm Leela, an American exchange student living in Germany, and here's how my first week with my new host family went! This first week was just adjustment/getting to know people but I'll cover being in a German school in my next video!

Currently, I am living with a long-term host family in the German state North-Rhein Westphalia (Nordrhein Westfalen in German).

I am part of the CBYX/PPP (Congress Bundestag Youth Exchange / Parlamentarisches Patenschafts-Programm) Vocational Program run jointly by the U.S. Department of State and the Deutsche Bundestag. This exchange program lasts 10 months and is a joint government scholarship between the Unites States of America and Germany. It is run by Nacel Open Door / Open Door International (ODI) and the Akademie für Internationale Bildung (AiB). If you're looking for a year abroad, gap year, or an opportunity to live in another country, specifically Europe, this might be the opportunity for you! This abroad program is open for high school students, high school graduates, college students, and post-graduates.
