Ohio Street Running Train Answers The Question Of Whether Or Not Trains Have To Stop For Red Lights! 2 Giant Norfolk Southern Railroad Bridges & CSX Train Booking Through Railroad Crossing. 5 Track Railroad Crossing With Local Switching Freight Train Delivering Freight Car To Customer. These Trains Are In Franklin And Miamisburg, Ohio. Norfolk Southern Dayton District & CSX Toledo Sub.
I was at a 5 track railroad crossing in Miamisburg, Ohio across from the abandoned power plant. A short local switcher was coming from Dayton, Ohio to deliver a covered hopper car to a customer at the end of the industrial spur that has a section of street running track in Franklin, Ohio on 6th Street. We see an EMD SD40-2 running long hood forward down the middle of the street. I get questions all the time asking if street running trains have to stop for red lights. Well, as you can see, the light was red and the train approached the street with the horn blaring.
This is the second best section of street running track in Ohio. The best is the long section in Marietta, Ohio that I have filmed with trains running in both directions. See my Street Running Trains playlist for those videos.
We see the train going both directions down the street and then I show the train at the five track crossing that I had filmed shortly before the street running part.
Next we see a long Norfolk Southern manifest crossing another giant railroad bridge. This one is in Miamisburg, Ohio. I think this is the first time that I have filmed a freight train on that bridge. The train will pass through here on its way to Sharon Yard in Sharonville, Ohio.
The last train is a CSX auto racks train booking across the Union Street railroad crossing in Carlisle, Ohio. I went here after filming the NS trains in hope of getting some CSX fast trains. I got a few more and used the radar gizmo for Part 2. Part 2 will also include a loaded continuous welded rail train on the CSX that I got right when I was leaving. It will be posted soon. Best frequencies here are 160.980 for Norfolk Southern and 160.440 for CSX.
Don't miss the Live Action Pets and the slide show at the end of the video.

Filmed Monday, May 6, 2024 in 1080p with 60fps. Thanks for watching!
