The first state-level surf fishing tournament 2021 in Ratnagiri
➡ The grand first state-level surfing tournament organized by Ratnagiri Fishers Club and operated by Sportfishing Association Ratnagiri was held at Bhatye Beach on Sunday 24th January 2021. The competition was attended by 80 contestants from different parts of the country. The competition was organized on a large scale to create awareness and interest in sportfishing in Angler, Ratnagiri and attract tourists to the district through the competition.

➡ Sushil Warang from Mandvi-Ratnagiri bagged the first prize of Rs. 20,000 and a trophy and fishing equipment worth Rs. 45,000.
➡ Parimal Mayanak from Mandvi-Ratnagiri bagged the second prize of Rs 15,000 and a total prize of Rs 35,000 including trophy and fishing equipment.
➡ Sanjeev Patil from Alibag bagged the third prize of Rs 10,000 and a total prize of Rs 25,000 including trophy and fishing equipment.

➡ The main sponsor of the tournament was LUCANA -Seagull Fishing Tackle - Tamilnadu. He had sponsored about 2 lakh fishing-related prizes in goodies and types of equipment form. Each contestant was given a fishing welcome kit of Rs.1500 by LUCANA Tackle. Besides,

was given such prizes And many other prizes were drawn in a lucky-draw. It also had 5 Bluetooth headsets from Mobile Hub Shoppe. Also, kannani Brothers-Mangalore had given 2 fishing reels and goodies in lucky draw. Each contestant was given a certificate of competition and a Momento by the organization in the prize distribution after the competition. Mumbai-based De Jeremy Wadi Fishing - Vishal Gill gifted a fishing mono line to each contestant.

➡ Ratnadurga Mountaineers, a well-known mountaineering organization in Ratnagiri, provided technical support to the competition. In it, they provided 2 first aids, life jackets, and 10 volunteers for the competition.

➡ Renowned entrepreneur Mr Kiran Samant was present as the chief guest on the occasion. Besides, the President of Ratnagiri Creedai, Shri * Deepak Salvi. Former Deputy Mayor and Senior Councilor of Ratnagiri Shri. Dattatraya alias Balu Salvi and former Sarpanch of Bhatye village Mr Parag Bhatkar and Team LUCANA were present. President of Sportfishing Association Ratnagiri Shri. Nityanand Bhute said that he would organize such a large scale national level competition in Ratnagiri every year and its format would be bigger than this. And thanks to all those who helped directly and indirectly to make this competition a success.

➡ To make this competition a success, Ganesh Chaughule, Santosh alias Babu Sawant, Rohit Birje, Atish Kir, Asif Mohammad, Vicky Chaughule, Aniket Jambhale, Mehboob Mujawar, Sandeep Maharana, Mayur Pawar, Raja Pilankar, Rahul Shirdhankar, Nachiket Shivalkar, Sagar Bhatkar, Sidhu Shivalkar worked hard.
Features of the competition: -
➡ The 100% catch and release method were to quickly release the fish caught in the competition by taking its edge, removing its throat, and taking its weight.
➡ There were 80 contestants from Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, Goa, Raigad, Pune, Mumbai, and Ratnagiri.
➡ The beach was cleaned after the competition.
➡ Colourful flags were hoisted over the entire beach to make Bhatye Beach look attractive, so the beach was still visible.
➡ Tourists were informed about rod fishing. He also enjoyed fishing.
➡ Many YouTubers from across the country had come to film the competition.
