Most women will struggle with their weight in their lifetime. It may start as early as adolescence, entering adulthood, or after pregnancy. And it will only get worse in menopause. Women’s physiology markedly changes through life stages, and focusing on calorie reduction to lose weight and keep the weight off will fail every time. In this talk, Dr. Rosane Oliveira will discuss weight gain (and loss) at different stages of a woman’s life (compared to a man’s life) and explain how a plant-based diet can stack the odds in their favor.

Dr. Rosane Oliveira is the founder and CEO of the nonprofit Plant-Based Life Foundation where she teaches individuals how to adopt healthier habits on their journey towards a more plant-based lifestyle. She also teaches lifestyle medicine at the UC Davis School of Medicine and plant-based living at Stanford’s Continuing Education program.
