Had a clicking noise inside center of console for years in my 2011 Kia Sorento. The sound occurs in the center console around gear shifter area when brake is pressed. Dealer had said it was normal, but it sound was not there the first two years I owned the vehicle.

Solved by putting in a O-ring (and did not replace solenoid) on shaft that shifter lockout lever pivots on. I used a 1/2" I.D. x 3/4"O.D. O-ring, but had to shave it a little. I think a 1/2" I.D. x 11/16" O.D. may have worked without having to shave, but not sure. Maybe a o-ring on Amazon like this http://www.amazon.com/112-Silicone-O-....
