Описание к видео Tubular Cast-On (crochet version/provisional cast-on) for 2 x 2 Ribbing.

This video demonstrates how to work the Tubular Cast-On (crochet version)/ provisional cast on.
You will need a crochet hook, circular needles, and scrap yarn and project yarn.
Start off by creating a slip knot and placing it on your hook. Place the knitting needle on top of the working scrap yarn, yarn over the crochet hook and pull the yarn through your slip knot on the hook. Repeat this for as many stitches as the pattern requires. Once cast-on is complete, slide the stitches to the other end of your needle. Attach the working yarn to the scrap yarn tail with a slip knot. The slip knot will be resolved when you unzip the provisional cast-on. You have half of the total required stitches for your project.

You will now work a set up row.
YO, K1 across the row.
You have doubled the number of stitches and you are ready to start working the 4 rows of double knitting as follows:

Row 1 - Right side - Sl1pwyif, K1 across the row.
Row 2 - Wrong side - Sl1pwyif, K1 across the row.
Repeat these 2 rows, 1 more time for a total of 4 rows.

Orient the stitches for 2 x 2 ribbing as follows:
Still using the 3.5mm / US 4 needle
Step 1 - Purl the first stitch
Step 2 - Swap the next knit stitch with the next purl stitch
Step 3 - Continue with a P1, K2.
Repeat across the entire row.
Change to 4mm / US6 circular needles and work the 2 x 2 rib as instructed in the pattern.
