A short walk after the flight from Tarakan to Balikpapan, Kalimantan, Borneo, Indonesia.
I was taken to a laundry by one of the boys, when I got there they could help me but it took 2 days, I said that's not possible because I don't have any clean clothes anymore, I still have some but who says I want to stay here for three days. And I don't have any clean pants anymore, an accident can happen and then you can really see the skid marks through those thin tropical pants. Luckily they said tomorrow. With the help of Google Translate I told the boy that I was walking back because I still had to do some shopping and wanted to walk around a bit.
Finally bought some fruit again, found a shop with nice bananas, the mandarins are a bit sour unfortunately.
The streets here are tricky to cross, with the many motor bikes that tear over them quite a bit.
Dropped off stuff and went to the supermarket for coffee and something to nibble on.
They didn't have black coffee again.
Walked around again but I couldn't find the shop with beer. On the way back I was approached by Martin, he is a bit younger than me and he has his street stall near a very large shop that sells noodles, on the corner of my hostel, you can get a dish here for 10k, in the evening there is a line, where according to Martin you have a waiting time of 2 hours, he then stands with his stall at the end of the line, and people then buy iced tea from him, or some chicken stuff. Nice to stand/sit with him for an hour talking, his English is pretty good and he even speaks some Spanish.
Then we went to eat, which was expensive, 4 euros, I can eat for 1 week in the cheap noodle shop on the corner, where a meal costs half a euro.
