Bill C-18: The fallout over Google, Meta's plans to block news links in Canada

Google and Meta are pushing back on the federal government's plans to implement its Online News Act, which aims to help the struggling Canadian media industry.

Both tech giants say they will remove access to news links in Canada once the legislation, also known as Bill C-18, comes into effect by the end of the year.
