About La Bérarde - Hidden Gems of Isère Series
The ride to La Bérarde is a hidden gem. Tucked away on a dead-end road, most riders opt for the famous Alp d'Huez and Galibier. But those that make it to this ride are in for a treat. The ride starts in Le Clapier d'Auris. Here you leave the busy main road and enter the peaceful oasis of the Vénéon Valley. The valley is very popular with climbers and hikers and that is not for no reason, the area is simply stunningly beautiful. There is very little traffic on the small narrow roads and it has some amazing segments of balcony road. The beginning of the ride is easy, but a bit further into the ride you get to some difficult segments with double-digit gradients. Two-thirds into the ride it becomes very easy again, and one can enjoy the stunning scenery without much effort. The ride ends in front of the local café in La Bérarde.

Just add music:
Most cyclists would agree that the ride to Col du Tourmalet is awesome. But when it comes to music opinions are very mixed. This is why we have not added any music and why we recommend adding your favorite music to the ride. It is quite simple. Mute YouTube and open a browser window. Find a site that offers music (Spotify, YouTube, etc…) and pick the music you like, and enjoy the ride... The original sound of the ride has been left out. This is because the natural sound of the surroundings is drowned by noise from passing cars, vibrations from the road, wind, and the rider's breathing.
