Gary Brown was the subpostmaster in Rawcliffe, East Yorkshire from 2000 until 2014. Maureen Brown ran the attached shop. They describe how completely unconcerned the Post Office was about money apparently going missing ('stolen' they said) as long as the Browns made up any shortfall from their own savings - even to the point of forcing the cut-price sale of their house. The compensation the Browns have received from the Post Office is less than the money the Browns gave the Post Office to make up for fictitious shortfalls.
