Tesla Air-Conditioning Hose Fix!

This 2013 Tesla Model S was originally designed so that the condensate hose from the air-conditioning came out right on top of the battery pack. In this video, we fix that!

While working on the Tesla S, with the battery pack out, it's easy to see where the hose from the air-conditioner is. Unfortunately, it comes out right on top of the battery pack. That's bad for a number of reasons, including rusting out the HV Fuse Cover, water getting in, and stopping the car from working at all!

In this video the MAIN HIGH VOLTAGE BATTERY PACK is REMOVED from the car. I am working in an area towards the front of the car, just behind the front wheels. This are is normally completely filled in by the battery. The hose is question normally can not be seen as it is hidden ABOVE the battery pack.

The output hose is 3/4" OD. I simply got some 3/4" ID hose from the auto parts store, slipped it over the existing hose, and ran it out near the passenger side wheel well.

The water now drips on the road, INSTEAD of the battery pack!

Although later versions of the car corrected this flaw, and there was a Service Bulletin on this issue, some cars still were never retroactively repaired.
