Theo Van Rensburg - An Attacking Threat

Theo van Rensburg could have, and should have played more tests for South Africa. For some reason, he just did not quite crack it at national level, but at provincial level, he showed real class and promise from a young age.

He made a big impact at Tukkies and the at Northern Transvaal before moving to Transvaal and claiming the no. 15 jersey as his own.

He did play for South Africa between 1992 and 1994, but Andre Joubert established himself as the first choice full back in the national setup and players like Gavin Johnson came through at Transvaal.

Van Rensburg moved back to the Bulls in 1995 before closing off his career at the SWD Eagles in the late 90's.

For the most part, I loved watching him play and he sure gave us some great rugby moments.
