Trekking To A Remote Village In Northern Laos

Whilst Nong Khiaw is small, it does receive tourists so you can find guesthouses, bars and restaurants catering for backpackers and travellers on a higher budget. To experience true rural life in Northern Laos, you need to head out to the surrounding villages.

On my final day in Northern Laos, I headed out on a small trek up the Nam Ou river to the nearby village of Ban Had Sao. This small village consists of a school, one shop and a few houses. It was a beautiful walk and I got to meet some of the sweetest children from the village.
