Aegina, Greece was such and awesome island and it is the closest island to Athens!

We came over to Aegina from Athens just for the day and we had so much fun on this beautiful little island. There is a quaint old town, lots of beaches, beautiful views, many gorgeous churches and we visited the ruins of the Temple of Aphaia which was spectacular!

The ferry ride over was about 1 hour and 20 minutes and including the getting on and off the ferry, took a little over an hour and a half. We rented a car so that we could easily get around the island and see all of the sights that Aegina had to offer. Greece is a gorgeous country and this island is definitely a hidden gem. We loved our day in Aegina Island, Greece!
