Chicagoland Spring Marathon 2021 - My First In-Person Race!

Now that I’m fully vaccinated, I’m ready to compete in my first in-person race in well over a year. The Chicagoland Spring Marathon was put on by All Community Events out in Schaumburg, Illinois. There was a socially distant start and all beverages at the aid stations were in sealed containers that you could pick up off the table yourself.
I used the event as a return to in-person racing and also as a practice run for my first trail race coming up. I was going to try and run the race at low HR, and I had a vest that was loaded up for about 6 hours of adventure. It was a pretty humid day and the vest was heavy, but it was great practice.

Disclosures: no one is paying me to make this video or to attend this event. I paid for my bib, and I have had no communications with the race organizers, other than to email for confirmation whether hydration vests would be permitted for racers.
