In this video, I'll walk you step by step through how to set up a website property in Google Analytics 4 (GA4).

Step 1: Sign In or Signup
First, you'll need to sign in or sign up for a Google Analytics account, so head over to Google Analytics at https://analytics.google.com and sign in. If you don't have an analytics account, you can create one by clicking the "Create account" link.

Step 2: Setting Up Property Details
Once you've signed into Google Analytics, you'll need to:
a. Click the "Admin" cog in the lower left corner of your screen.
b. Then, in the "Property" column, click the blue "Create Property" button.
c. Next, fill in your property, name, time zone, and currency. And once you're finished, click next.

Step 3: Setting Up Business Details
On the next screen., you'll need to fill in your business details. So:
a. Use the dropdown and select the type and size of your business and then click next.
b. On the next screen, you'll need to select the topic that best fits your objectives. So choose from the selection and click "Create".

Step 3. Setting Up Platform Details
On the next page, you'll need to choose a platform.
a. Click "Web".
b. Next, type in the URL of your website and a name that you'll easily recognize in Google Analytics.

Step 4: Setting up Enhanced Measurement Options
a. In the "Enhanced Measurement" option, move the toggle to "Off".
b. When the popup window appears, click "Turn Off".
c. Then, click "Create Stream".

Step 5: Setting Up Webstream Details
Now the "Webstream Details" window and "Installation Instructions" window will appear.
a. Close both windows by clicking the "X" in the upper left-hand corner of each window.
b. Then on the "Start Collecting Data" screen, click "Next".
c. Now a window will appear indicating that your data collection is pending. So click the "Continue to Home" button.

Step 6: Configuring Data Retention Settings
Now, you'll want to change your data retention settings from 2 months to 14 months to do that:
a. Click the "Admin" cog in the lower left corner of your screen.
b. Now in the "Property" column, click on "Data Settings"
c. Then click "Data Retention".
c. Now using the dropdown menu and change the setting from "2 months" to "14 months".
d. Once you're done, click "Save".

Now you've successfully set up a property in Google Analytics 4 and you can log out of Google Analytics.
