2018 winning Derby trainer Kevin Hutton has a pretty epic (and large) team for this year's Star Sports Derby. In this week's kennel visit, Julie Collier finds out who will and won't be heading for Towcester, we hear the latest on Dorotas Wildcat and all the 2022 Star Sports Derby contenders as well as meeting some potential (super cute) 2024 contenders with incredible breeding, not to be missed.

Coppice Fox

One of Kevin's younger Derby contenders being just a June 2020 but he took to Towcester immediately and has been given plenty of looks round, something the kennel think is important at Towcester. He has some nice trials behind him and Kevin thinks there is plenty to come.

Signet Denver

A fantastically bred dog and one of a few from the Magical Bale x Forest Natalee litter who will be heading to Towcester. Dever already has some cracking form at the track and seems to thrive in competitions too having already made a couple of finals.

Sleek By Design

Denver's sister has already made a seriously hot Blue Riband final at Towcester as well as the British Bred Derby final. For various reasons, it's been a while since she got her last win for the kennel but she's all heart and has the gears.

Signet Ace

A kennel superstar and potentially, soon to be crowned 202 Greyhound Of The Year? He's been a winner right from the start of his career back in the summer of 2020 and his CV is quite incredible. Ace has been off since his race on New Year's Day, so Kevin get's us up to date on the news and how good he thinks he is now compared to the star he was last year.

Signet Otis

Another from the Bale x Natalee litter, Otis already has a competition win to his name after winning the British Bred final at Nottingham. He was also runner-up in the Blue Riband final at Towcester, where, like his siblings, he cut his teeth racing and has bags of experience.

Coppice Brewer

A brother to Coppice Fox and another with improvement in him being a June 2020 whelp. He won well in the first round of the Maiden Derby before finding trouble in the second round. A youngster that will head to Towcester with that invaluable experience under his belt.

Lights Out

Lights Out won the Brighton Belle at Hove in December but was sadly unable to defend her title last month due to injury. Kevin tells us how she is doing and where she is best placed given that she has run well over the 712m at Towcester before.

Droopys Sputnik

A new dog to the kennel with quite unusual breeding. Sputnik is still finding his feet and settling in and is yet to have a race for Kevin. But he has raced in top class company in Ireland and hopes are high.
