Part 2 of 4 from my Iceland Trip. A short VFR hop from Reykjavik Airport to Vestmannaejar Airport!

A short 60 nautical mile hop over the beautiful scenery of Iceland. Starting at Reykjavik (BIRK) and transiting to Vestmannaejar (BIVM). The weather was perfect to take off, just a small amount of windshear reported by other departing aircraft. Then heading South East over some small terrain to make a visual circuit to land. The weather was pretty good at the destination, but due to some high terrain in the vicinity of the airport there was some strong gusts, bringing turbulence and a challenging crossing landing.

2020 DA42, Registration N42LR, equipped with the Garmin G1000 NXI avionics. Use of Flight Stream, Garmin Satellite Weather and GWX 68 weather radar. Aircraft equipped with Flight Into Known Icing protection.

Use of Foreflight to aid flight planning and for Jeppesen Charts.

Pilot Headset is a Clarity Aloft in-ear headset.
