PIGEONS TO PELAGICS | When ROAD TRIPS don't quite go to plan

The Wilderness Coast has rainforests, beaches, lagoons and some pretty amazing birds. Metung was our first stop to see the Topknot Pigeons and we finally got lucky to get a half decent glimpse of them this time!!

Next we headed off to the Mackenzie River Rainforest Walk to see the Scarlet Honeyeaters. Not a bad view of them as well! Yay!

The intention for next part of the trip was a birding pelagic that had been booked months ago. This pelagic would head off from Eden and head back down into Victorian waters so all the birders could tick off lifers on their Victorian e-bird lists..... but the weather had other ideas!!
