On April 4, 2024, Elayne Oliphant joined several ACHA colleagues to discuss her research and work for an upcoming project entitled “A Carnival of Gods in the Panthéon: Rethinking Religion and Abolition in 21st Century Paris.”

Oliphant is an Associate Professor of Anthropology and Religious Studies at New York University. Olyphant was joined by Jennifer Scheper Hughes of UC Riverside, Katharine Gerbner of the University of Minnesota, Brenna Moore of Fordham University, and Jack Downey, from the University of Rochester.
