What is a gallbladder & where is it located?
The gallbladder is a small, pear-shaped organ on the right side of your abdomen, just beneath your liver. The gallbladder holds a digestive fluid called bile that's released into your small intestine.

Gallstones are the most common problem identified in the gallbladder and it is also the 2nd most common digestive problem in general.

How to identify gallstones in their early stages?
Gallstones are more common in females than males. Rates of gallstones are two to three times higher in females, this is mostly a phenomenon of childbearing age.

Common symptoms of Gallstones can be stomach pain, gasses, fatty dyspepsia, jaundice, etc. If the pain intensifies it is called a gallbladder attack which causes vomiting or nausea. In some cases, the gallstones block the bile duct or sometimes block the opening of the pancreas resulting in serious complications such as biliary pancreatitis.

Diagnosis of Gallstones -
The most common tests done to identify gallstones in the gallbladder are abdominal and pelvic ultrasound/sonography. Some blood tests such as liver function tests help us identify whether the patient has jaundice or not, is the liver functioning well, or is there any blockage in the pancreas.
