Ganesh may not speak or hear, but he certainly knows the pulse of his customers when it comes to preparing and serving them fresh teas, each one brimming with the goodness of natural ingredients. I am told he began this enterprise when he lost his father owing to some ailment that couldn’t be cured. Ganesh took it upon himself to research and prepare a variety of teas that he believed could help his customers stay healthy and restore them from day to day health niggles. It was inspiring to watch this one-man-army go about his work serving the community when I dropped in unannounced at his small store one evening.

Note: Each tea dispensed by Ganesh is unique. Whilst some of them may taste a bit medicinal, they are extremely beneficial to one’s health, say regulars. My favourites were green tea, lemon tea and jaggery tea. Teas are priced upwards of Rs. 20.
