The Eastbourne Miniature Steam Railway is a 1/8th scale miniature railway on the outskirts of Eastbourne, running on 7 1/4 inch gauge track on a 900 yard line around a fishing lake.

Two miniature locomotives were in operation on a busy Easter Sunday in the form of BR Britannia Class (7P) ‘70000 Britannia’ (Built: 2003) and LMS Black Five 5156 Ayrshire Yeomanry (Built: 2000). The rest of the lines fleet was on display, these locomotives being:
LMS Royal Scot Class 'Royal Green Jackets' (Built: 1987)
LMS Fowler 4F 'Rachel' (Built: 1993)
GWR class 38XX No. 3802 (Built: 1990)
Southern Railways Schools Class 'Eastbourne' (Built: 1998)
LNER A1 Class 4472 'Flying Scotsman’ (Built: approximately 1940)
BR Class 35 ‘Hymek’ 'Eastbourne Herald' (Built: 1988)
BR Class 37 'The Eleventh Duke Of Devonshire' (Built: 2004)
BR ‘O8’ Shunter Battery Electric Locomotive (Built: 2000)

The site is a great site for families with lots of play areas, cafes, well stocked shop, indoor model railway shed and an outside G scale railway with Bachmann Thomas the tank engine and Percy.
