Autistic man reported missing from Scottsdale neighborhood.

Scottsdale Police are asking for the public's help to find a 20-year-old autistic man who was last seen at his home near Frank Lloyd Wright and Via Linda on Sept. 22.

Najib Monsif, who reportedly has the mental capacity of an 8-year-old child, likely left home on foot, police say. His father was the last person to see him that night.

"Like [any] other night, nothing new. I got him his food because he stayed up all night so he can eat at night. At 2 a.m., I woke up, fed the dog, walked the puppy we have for [Najib], and I went and laid back down and I saw him come down with a bag, with the food to put in the trash. And I never saw him coming up. At this stage I was dizzy, so I fell asleep," his father said.

When Najib's father woke up in the morning, his son wasn't in his bedroom. He wasn't at his mother's house who lives down the road either.

Monsif does not drive and does not have his cellphone with him, police say.

"He's innocent. He's vulnerable. His words can be misconstrued. He is a child. He is verbal, but he's on the spectrum and you can tell that he is," said Najib's sister, Josephine.

Three days later, there's no sign of Najib. The community canvassed the neighborhood, put up flyers and asked the community to keep an eye out for him.

"We ask that you see him to call 911 immediately and stay with him. Do not leave him under any circumstances. He should not be with anyone other than a family member at this time, so if he is with anyone, regardless, call 911 immediately," said Josephine.

Najib is described as a 5'10" Middle Eastern male with a thin build. He could be wearing all-black clothing with moccasins, which causes him to shuffle. Anyone with information is asked to also contact Scottsdale Police at 480-312-5000.
