Hi friends, I hope you’re all doing well. Welcome back to another urban sketching project with professional marker pens! In this video, I set myself a quick challenge: to draw this lovely restaurant in just 1 hour using Classic Copic markers, fine liners, and graphite.

As in the last video, I used a lot of Copic markers because the original picture had a vibrant color palette, and I wanted to highlight these contrasts as much as possible in the sketch. Another challenge was playing with the proportions of the buildings. In the original image, the houses are quite tall, but on my marker paper, they appear shorter to make room for the red and rose-colored houses on the sides. The street was also somewhat challenging. Since I didn’t have a lot of time to add strong details to the stones, I improvised by using thin lines and randomly applied warm gray tones.

Overall, I'm pleased with how the sketch turned out. It maintains the style I’ve been developing. This project was an interesting challenge and experiment to see how much detail could be captured in a saturated image like this one, and I might try it again in the near future.
