Autumn Foraging for fruit in the UK

Описание к видео Autumn Foraging for fruit in the UK

Thanks for joining us in this Wild Camping and Hammocking Foraging Series.

In this episode we are exploring out local woodland in search of foraged plants and we are starting off with something you will probably have foraged yourself as a child as it is found all over the UK.

In the video we provide you with several clues to guess the correct name of this particular plant, from its botanical name of Rubus fruticosus to a detailed description of its leaves, vines and colour of the fruit. You will find the answer at the end of the video.

It’s a tasty sweet treat that can be made into jam, fruit crumbles or pies. It is easy to recognise and easy to harvest. When picking these berries watch out for the spikes on the vines!

And always remember NEVER PUT ANYTHING IN YOUR MOUTH UNLESS YOU ARE 100% SURE YOU HAVE IDENTIFIED IT CORRECTLY AND IT IS IN FACT EDIBLE.

Stay safe, happy foraging and never risk it if you have any doubts.
