Do yourself a favor - Listen with a decent set of headphones to get the best listen to the audio tracks in the video. Your phone or computer’s speakers are poor, they neuter bass frequencies and are a true compromise in this situation. Youtube applies compression to all videos, and this does affect the audio quality, unfortunately.

::: Our general feelings about the Seymour Duncan SPB-2 Hot Precision Bass® Pickup :::
Direct low end that doesn’t get flabby. Comparing with Aguilar’s 4P-Hot (another ‘hot’ pickup), the low end of the SPB-2 is tighter and not as wide…it is more direct. The lower mid range is present in a pleasing way…slightly dark but the overall EQ is not scooped, and the upper mids are present without being honky. When comparing to Duncan’s SPB-3, we hear the slight darkness in the lower mids of the SPB-2, as well as a less pronounced upper mid range and top end. Overall, the SPB-2 has a slightly narrow sonic range…don’t take ‘narrow’ to mean something negative, it can help you get a punchy bass sound.

As always, keep in mind that these are generalizations. Your experience could be different depending on many factors.

Audio Interface: Scarlett
Audio Recording Software: Logic Pro X
In Logic Pro X, we used an amp modeler, the ’60s Combo’, which is intended to emulate an Ampeg B-15. There is a slight bit of compression and a high pass filter at 40 Hz. For continuity and evaluation purposes, these settings are applied across all of our demo videos.
