1. Angels' Role in Worship:
Angels are among the most powerful and obedient creations of Allah, yet they only act according to Allah's command and do not possess free will like humans.
The lecture highlights that although angels are great and strong, they are in a constant state of fear and submission to Allah. This is mentioned as an argument against those who worship angels or seek their help as intermediaries.
2. Fear of Allah by the Angels:
Angels tremble in fear when they receive commands from Allah. This fear and obedience are emphasise to show that even angels, who are sinless, are in awe of Allah’s might.
If even angels fear Allah so greatly, it raises the question of why humans would turn to angels (or any other creation) for intercession when only Allah has the ultimate power and control.
3. Misguided Worship and Intercession:
Some people mistakenly elevate angels or other figures like prophets or saints, believing that by seeking their intercession, their prayers will be conveyed to Allah more effectively.
The speaker argues that this is a flawed understanding, as it negates the direct connection every believer has with Allah. Worshipping or asking intermediaries like angels or dead saints is considered shirk (associating partners with Allah), which is the gravest sin in Islam.
4. Hadiths on Revelation and Angels:
The lecture refers to a hadith where when Allah decrees something, angels pass the command down in a chain until it reaches the lower heavens. Some jinn (supernatural beings) attempt to overhear these commands but are often struck by shooting stars before they can convey the information to fortune tellers.
This hadith is used to demonstrate how fortune-tellers and magicians might receive partial truths from these overheard conversations, mixing them with lies, leading people astray.
