Autocross Test - Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS

First autocross in the new car! My goals with this thing are autocross and time trial domination.

First impressions: my word, it's loud. Just as friendly as my last Cayman but with a ton more torque and horsepower and complete suspension control. Almost as shocking as the power is just how quickly the chassis - front and rear - responds to even very aggressive steering inputs. Happily obliges with power oversteer even low down in second gear. I couldn't get a sense for medium-to-high speed balance on this course given its very tight confines, but I can't wait to bring it out to larger venues and tracks!

As with my last Cayman, I hope to maximize the platform without significant modifications. To that end, it's been through an alignment with an eye toward maximizing front-end grip. There's already a lot more to play with here than on the last car.

I ran the stock Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2's here but will swap to Yokohama Advan A052s prior to running the rest of the year. I may eventually look for aftermarket wheel options to enable a wider front tire, but for now I'm running with what I've got.
