My outboard engines shaft is 18" and that falls within a short/standard shaft measurement.
However, as with almost all SIBs, the transom is usually 15"... Therefore the outboards cavitation plate is near 3" too deep in the drink and not skiing the surface of the water when on plane like it should. Even with the foils I have installed it's still too deep causing massive drag and ruining the coefficiency.

Typically the cav wants to be around 5-10mm below the transom for best all around performance.
