Sir Charles Bowman is a British accountant who served as the 690th Lord Mayor of London. Sir Charles specialises in delivering audit, assurance and capital market transaction services to larger listed and multi-national companies and is considered one of the leading global minds on financial services. He has chaired the Assurance Panel and the Audit and Assurance Faculty of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW). Sir Charles has been a member of its governing body and a Trustee and Chairman of the Lord Mayor's Appeal.


Sir Charles was elected as the Alderman of the Ward of Lime Street in the City of London and served as one of the two Sheriffs of the City of London. Sir Charles Bowman is described as one of the most forward thinkers in learning, development and engagement initiatives; he is passionate about social mobility, inclusion and ethics.


Today, he helps and encourages the early unlocking of the city's future talent to help businesses understand how these shifts impact society and marketplace behaviour. He was knighted in the 2019 Queen's Birthday Honours for services to trust in business, international trade and the City of London.

Valerie Ann Amos, Baroness Amos LG, CH, PC, is a British Labour Party politician and diplomat who served as the eighth UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator. Before her appointment to the UN, she served as British High Commissioner to Australia.


Baroness Amos was created a life peer in 1997, serving as Leader of the House of Lords and Lord President of the Council from 2003 to 2007. Since September 2020, Amos has been a Master of University College, Oxford, succeeding Sir Ivor Crewe and becoming the first-ever black head of an Oxford college, and the first woman appointed to the post.


On 1 January 2022, Baroness Amos became a Lady Companion of the Order of the Garter. She is the first black person and person of colour to be appointed Lady Companion of the Order of the Garter, by Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. An honour reserved for royalty, joining Haile Selassie I, the late emperor of Ethiopia, who was a Royal member of the Order.
