Efua T. Sutherland's centenary celebration | Women of valour

#iwd #iwd2024 #ghanamonth This week was filled with celebrating women from the past, the present and the future! On the 5th on March, the Estate of Efua Sutherland has launched a centenary celebration of the life and legacy of renowned Ghanaian poet and playwright Efua Theodora Sutherland in Accra. She would have turned 100 in June this year, and the launch is to garner support, raise awareness, and unveil plans for the planned year of commemoration. The Efua Sutherland Centenary Project hopes to revive and strengthen the legacy of a remarkable African woman, and to re-introduce her to new generations at home and abroad.

On 7th of March, renowned Ghanaian media personlaity, Nana Aba Anamoah hosted three phenomenal women in their fields for the second edition of Women of Valour, a celebration of stories of courage and an inspiration to the young women who attended. The guests were Shirley Frimpong Manso from Ghana, Bonang Matheba from South Africa and Rita Dominic from Nigeria
