A lively talk by Bharathanatyam dancer and guru Charles Ma on his unconventional journey of becoming a dancer and the essence of a teacher. Charles Ma's artistic soujourn for knowledge led him to some of India's finest gurus like Guru Smt. Poornima Ashok, Guru. Smt. Priyadarsini Govind, Guru. Shri Sajilal Narayan, Guru Dr. Ranjani Ganesan Ramesh.

His individuality, a distinct style that is linear with masculine elegance and a flair for Abhinaya set him apart. After a hiatus from active dancing he makes a comeback as soloist, choreographer, teacher and nattuvannar.

He has been an INK fellow and spoke at The TED worldwide auditions in Bangalore, has performed extensively has received commendable reviews. He was chosen as one of India Today's young achievers in Bangalore in 2011.

He also is a print model and has worked in television. He is a motivational speaker and inspires young people across the country. Some of the platforms he has been invited to speak have been the Ink Summits, Ted, TED X series, the Volvo Leadership summit, Ink Salons, NID, Christ college art workshops, Seminars etc.

He is constantly attempting to find a modern sensibility to the traditional art form of Bharatanatyam. He is doing research on vintage pieces of music dance and techniques.Teaching is his passion second only to dance. He teaches young dancers at his school 'Adishakti'. Some of his students have done their Arangetrams under his guidance and some now work with reputed dance companies.

He believes that art and spirituality are
Inevetibly born from the source. That they are not dualities but the same
