Humarap sa imbestigasyon ng Senado si dating Western Command Chief Vice Admiral Alberto Carlos, kaugnay sa isyu ng pag-uusap nila ng isang opisyal ng Chinese Embassy sa Maynila. Pero paglilinaw ng opisyal ng militar, walang pahintulot na i-record ang kanilang usapan at wala siyang anumang sinabi na maglalagay sa alanganin sa Pilipinas bilang isang bansa.
