Premature babies can be healthy later in their life, depending on their gestation again. We have even seen 25 , 26 weeks who go to a normal school and again without any issues, probably 60 to 70% of them and it also depends on what all problems they go on in the unit and for example aa preterm baby at 38 would be completely normal as term babies, maybe minor issues like maybe doing a complex maths may be little bit difficult and with support that can also be completely normal. The majority of them at this modern age, that is any babies who are born beyond 32 weeks should be equal to term babies. Babies who are born less than 322 weeks, that is slightly increased chances of having problems with walking talking and how they deal with the complex situations in terms of calculations an higher cognition effect. It depends on entirely what the baby goes through in their NICU care. The younger the gestation, the more the problems are, but all problems can be early identified and supported with appropriate therapies. There may be as equal to a normal term baby.
