Cruise Control Diagnostics & Repair - 1994 VW Jetta MK3

This is a very detailed video of my procedure for diagnosing and repairing a failed cruise control system on my 1994 VW Jetta GLX MK3 with the VR6 engine and 5 speed manual transmission. The procedure utilizes the diagnostic steps from my Bentley service manual to test the electrical, vacuum, and mechanical components of the system. You will see that after completing all the steps, the electronic cruise control module (ECM) was identified as the failed component. This is a common failure for VW and Audi vehicles from the mid 90's to the early 2000's. The electronic board inside the ECM can often be repaired by resoldering failed solder joints for the capacitors. I did that successfully in the past but chose this time to utilize the following repair service on eBay.
