Goan Bangde Lonche | Mackerel Fish Pickle

Ingredients

For marination
mackerel 1 kg
salt as required
a pinch of turmeric powder

For masala

25 red chilies
10-12 garlic pods | 1 tbsp
ginger 1 piece finely chopped | 1 tbsp
10 peppercorns
cinnamon 2 sticks
1 tbsp cumin seeds
turmeric 3/4 tbsp
sugar 1 tsp
salt 1 tsp
coconut oil

For seasoning
8-9 curry leaves
1/2 tbsp finely chopped ginger
1/2 tbsp finely chopped garlic
vinegar as required | 1 and half cup
