Tackling unemployment for young people in Vanuatu

Unemployment continues to be one of the most pressing challenges for Vanuatu’s youth and young people, especially young women and girls. An inability for many families to pay for education beyond primary school leads to young people not having the industry skills needed for employability.

Oxfam partner, Youth Challenge Vanuatu (YCV) has been running since 2001 and helps youth to gain employment, work experience, volunteering and entrepreneurship opportunities and knowledge, through incredible training programs such as Ready for Work and Ready for Business.
