She was a Queen who had been on the throne for a huge amount of time, and the impending death of Victoria was a big problem for the nation that she had reigned over. Victoria would have dreamed that her husband would have been with her for many years, and that the pair would have enjoyed her long lengthy reign together. But inside Windsor Castle whilst he lay on his death bed, Prince Albert was suffering, and he had throughout his life suffered with many different illnesses, but he continually got worse, to the point where he lost the will to live, and he became greatly depressed by his constant issues regarding his health. There have been many causes of Albert’s death debated by historians, but he was a man who was ill in the last two years of his life.
