[JAPAN] Yasuko Matsuyuki Tribute - Award-winning Actress

This video introduces you to Ms. Yasuko Matsuyuki, one of Japan's award-winning actresses.
Yasuko was born to Japanese parents in Tosu, Saga prefecture, Kyushu Island. She was an ordinary girl in Japan but this changed in 1989.
In 1989, while attending a high school, Yasuko auditioned for the magazine MEN'S NON-NO and was selected as the "1st MEN'S NON-NO Girlfriend." Yasuko was surprised for she never thought she would win. From then on, she was offered a job as a model. After graduating high school with good grades, Yasuko moved to Tokyo with her mother to start her entertainment career.
In 1991, Yasuko debuted as an actress in the TV drama Nekketsu! Shinnyushin Sengen. In 1993, she played a strong role in the drama - I am Ms. Shiratori Reiko!, which was her main role, and she gave a strong acting performance as a confident actress. In 1995, Yasuko debuted as a singer with the single "ESP."
In March 1998, Yasuko married GAKU (Manabu Kadowaki), a guitarist for the music band The Thrill. In the spring of 2001, she gave birth to her first son. In Dec 2004, Yasuko divorced Gaku due to "being too busy with work and frequent misunderstandings." Her lead role in the movie "Hula Girls," released in 2006, was a huge hit. It was selected as Japan's entry for the Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film nomination. Yasuko also won the Japan Academy Award for Best Actress as well as the Japan Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her roles in the 2008 movies "Detroit Metal City" and "The Devotion of Suspect X." She was born to act; she loves acting.
In 2010, Yasuko won the Best Actress award at the 65th TV Drama Academy Awards for her lead role in the drama "Mother" in which she worked with Ms. Mana Ashida, a prodigy of acting.
Yasuko won first place in all categories, including readers' "TV reporters,' and judges' votes, and received five (5) times as many votes as the second-place winner.
In the 2010s, Yasuko was able to focus on her own activities and private life; she has been able to produce her own brand "Malulu," which has been a long-time dream of hers, and to spend more time with her only son. She says that she has been able to consciously maintain the pace that is most comfortable for her as an actress.
