Recurrent Abscess Treatment - Buttock

My patient had an abscess to his buttock area on going for 2 years. He had multiple doses of antibiotics which resulted in cyclic swelling then spontaneously bursting and draining. He had prior I+Ds done about 4 times at the hospital and privately but it ended up returning again and again.The pains and discomfort really started to affect him at work and during his daily activities.
He finally had enough and contacted us to have it removed professionally. Given the recurrence we made sure there wasn't
a sinus or tract and ruled out perianal or pilonidal abscesses. This
time a more radical approach was needed. So we decided to cut it
all out around and below. this way we are sure that there is nothing
left to cause it to reoccur yet again..

Treatment minor surgical removal under local anesthesia..
Thumbs up to my patient handled it well...
