We now have a new breeding pair of swans in Exhibition Park here in Newcastle upon Tyne. The pen (female) was born here a few years ago, just a couple of feet or so from the current nest. She is elegant, dutiful and is turning out to be a magnificent mother, just like her mother before her.
The cob seems not quite as used to humans. He is currently full of hormones and is quite aggressive to everything and everyone.
This is the pair's first family.
