NJT Raritan Valley Line Cab Ride: Newark to High Bridge (~2000)

Описание к видео NJT Raritan Valley Line Cab Ride: Newark to High Bridge (~2000)

This video was shot by a friend of the channel around the year 2000 and captures a westbound trip along New Jersey Transit's Raritan Valley Line. Train runs partly express with the first stop Westfield. Power is provided by F40PH-2CAT #4124.

Also included is a trip on the former Conrail Lehigh Line from NK interlocking to CP-ALDENE. Note the classic signaling and the still open NK (NewarK) tower. NK was built by the Lehigh Valley Railroad and contained a GRS CTC machine that controlled from NK down to CP-ALDENE. Along with the classic tower operation is a lot of classic LVRR/Conrail signaling with bracket masts and old signal bridges.

The NJT RVL was re-signaled in the 80's and retains that setup to this day.
