The Music City Star, the commuter railroad in Middle Tennessee, runs a special train on Independence Day. The train leaves Lebanon, with additional stops in Martha, Mt. Juliet. Hermitage and Donelson, taking passengers to downtown Nashville for July Fourth festivities. Thirty minutes after the fireworks end the train departs Riverfront Station, returning passengers to the other commuter stations. Riding the train allows celebrants to avoid the hassle of parking in downtown Nashville and the heavy holiday traffic. Riverfront Station is in the middle of the holiday activities. This special train operated with two F40 locomotives and seven gallery cars, operating in push-pull mode. (Normal commuter trains on this line operate with one locomotive and three or four cars.) The video was shot from a cab control car running into Nashville. The video shows the entire trip, with only the pauses at each station to load passengers shortened. The video shows what the engineer sees, except that the camera is a little lower than the cab. This line was originally the Tennessee Central Railway, and later this section was part of the L&N. The Music City Star offers regular commuter train service on this route on the Nashville and Eastern Railroad.
