In the fourth webinar in the ‘Managing Meds and Minimizing Risk: What you can do’ webinar series, Jana McNulty, Pharmacist, and Andrea Martin, Program Facilitator, Ontario Health’s South West Self-Management Program, will discuss the complexity and biopsychosocial nature of the pain experience and the need for multifaceted pain management approaches.

PRESENTERS:
Jana McNulty is a clinical pharmacist and academic detailer with the Centre for Effective Practice and Hub Pharmacist for Project ECHO St. Joseph’s Care Group.

Jana has strong foundational training and experience in pharmacotherapy and clinical evidence appraisal with a special focus on chronic pain management and safe opioid prescribing. Through her academic detailing work, Jana provides continuing education to primary care practitioners throughout Ontario where evidence based information is delivered to help improve prescribing practices, patient safety and quality of care. She holds a CDE designation and certification in opioid dependence treatment. Jana obtained her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy Degree from Dalhousie University and is a proud East Coaster!

Andrea Martin has spent the past 25 years working in health care from Long Term Care Nursing Home settings to active adult community programming. These have provided an opportunity to see the many experiences people face as they travel through their aging journey. With formal education in Kinesiology and Health Promotion, Andrea’s current role of Program Facilitator with the South West Self-Management program, allows her to share healthy aging skills to adults and health professionals. The South West Self Management program focusses on using Self-Management of your own health as a way to maintain control of your life, no matter what is thrown at you.
