The Bindura Nickel Mine (Trojan) is a massive mine located in Bindura, Zimbabwe. The first nickel deposit was discovered there in 1956, and the first concentrate of nickel was produced in 1964.

So delve with me into the heart of Zimbabwe's mining past at the abandoned Trojan Nickel Mine, a chilling reminder of a once-thriving industry.

According to a graph on the Mine's website, it ran a loss in 2023 of around USD$18 500 000, 00. The reason for this hasn't been specified and all operations have been aborted. It is now just a ghost area with the residential area still thriving. The mine has the following, the Trojan Mine Clinic, shops, and the Trojan Mine Primary School.

Opposite to the mine is a very nice upcoming high school, the University Hills College. The school is owned by Prof. Nyamadzawo and the School Head is Mr. Gwature. The University Hills offers boarding facilities at USD$750 per term and day scholars at USD$230 per term. At the moment, the school only has forms 1 to 4. It has a conducive environment for studying with a well maintained computer lab among others. Apart from all this, the school is on top of the mountain and the views are breathtaking. For enrollment contact the school head on 077 562 0622.
