ALWAYS CHECK THE MAP: Hiking through Angeles National Forest to...the freeway?

On a whim, we hike the Grizzly Flat trail in Angeles National Forest. Several unnecessary creek crossings and nearly 2,000 feet of vert later, we discover what we should have known all along: This trail ends at the freeway. Whoops. (Still, worth it for the view.)

We’re Andy and Brittany. We live in Los Angeles with our two cats, Prius and Tumbleweed. Andy is pretty proficient at surviving in nature. Brittany is a reformed indoor kid who just learned how to use a map. Together, we’re seeing where our feet will take us.
